Why we love it

Old-school skincare, made modern. Our tallow balm is as simple and pure as it gets — just honest ingredients that work with your skin, not against it. No fillers, no fluff, no fifty-step routine. Just a jar of pure, buttery goodness.

What even is tallow balm?

It’s basically skincare the way your great-grandma did it — just prettier. Made from grass-fed beef fat (yep, that’s the “tallow” bit), gently rendered and whipped into a creamy balm. Packed with skin-loving vitamins A, D, E + K — all the good stuff your skin knows how to use.

What can I use it for?

Oh, where do we start? Dry lips, rough heels, flaky shins, baby bum rash, sunburn, eczema, windburn, cracked hands… tallow balm is a multitasker’s dream. It’s your all-in-one skin saver, especially for skin that’s had a rough day.

Do you wet or dry render your tallow?

We dry render, always. That means we simply melt the fat down — no water, no salt, no extras.
Some people use the “wet render” method, adding salt and water to “purify” the tallow and strip out any scent. But we believe that process also strips out the natural balance of nutrients and fatty acids that make tallow so magic in the first place.
So we keep it simple — melt, strain, and let nature do its thing. Less is more, always.

Does it smell like a BBQ?

Don’t stress — no sausage sizzle vibes here. Good quality, grass-fed tallow has a super mild scent (more “neutral and comforting” than “Sunday roast”). We blend ours with natural botanicals, so you’ll smell fresh and earthy — not like dinner.

Will it make me greasy?

Only if you go wild with it. Start small — a tiny dab is plenty. It melts right in, especially on damp skin, and leaves you feeling soft, not slick.

Can I use it on my face?

Absolutely. Tallow’s fatty acids are almost identical to your skin’s natural oils, which means your face actually knows what to do with it. It helps balance oil production, calm redness, and give that “I sleep 8 hours and drink celery juice” glow (without actually doing either).

Is it safe for babies and kids?

100%. It’s gentle enough for the tiniest humans. Perfect for nappy rash, cradle cap, dry patches, or anything that needs soothing. No nasties, no fragrance, no tears — just pure, natural goodness.

Is it good for sensitive skin?

Yep — it’s one of the most skin-compatible moisturisers out there. No synthetics, no fillers, no weird preservatives. Just wholesome, skin-loving fats that calm irritation and help repair the skin barrier.

Is your tallow and all your ingredients organic?

You bet. All our ingredients — from the grass-fed, ethically sourced tallow to the oils and botanicals — are organic. No pesticides, no hidden extras, just pure, clean goodness straight from nature to your skin.

How do I use it?

Scoop a little, warm it between your fingers, and massage it wherever your skin’s feeling dry or cranky. For best results, apply to slightly damp skin — that’s when it really sinks in.

How should I store it?

Keep it somewhere cool and out of direct sun. It might soften up in summer (Australia, we get it), but it’ll firm up again when it cools down. Shelf life? Around 6–12 months — but let’s be honest, you’ll use it up way before then.

Is it vegan?

Nope. Tallow comes from animal fat — but it’s a beautiful example of nose-to-tail sustainability. Nothing wasted, just repurposed goodness your skin actually understands.

Why choose tallow over fancy plant oils?

Because your skin knows it. Tallow’s composition is super similar to human sebum, so it absorbs deeply and actually nourishes, not just sits there looking shiny. It’s like giving your skin what it’s been missing all along.

Why are you out of stock sometimes?

Because we’re small-batch, baby. We make everything fresh AF — no mass production, no sitting on shelves. Our ingredients come from small, family-run local businesses, so we only create when everything is at its absolute best. It’s worth the wait, promise.

Can I travel with it?

Yep! It’s solid, spill-proof, and doubles as lip balm, hand cream, and emergency highlighter. Chuck it in your bag and you’re sorted.

A little love note from us

We keep it real, we keep it local, and we keep it fresh. Every batch is made with care (and a bit of obsession). Because your skin deserves the good stuff — straight from nature, no shortcuts.

Why balm over whipped tallow?

We love a good balm. Whipping tallow can look fancy, but it also fills your jar with air — meaning less actual product for you and more chance of oxidation (aka it going off sooner).
A balm is pure, solid, and stable — no fluff, no filler, just the real deal. It stays fresher for longer and melts beautifully on contact with your skin. More product. Less air. Big win.

YOUR WORDS

''Sanii face and body balm is deliciously smooth and leaves my skin feeling nourished and hydrated. The rich aroma from the cacao butter makes it all the more addictive! Skincare free of essential oils and seed oils is a must, so Sanii ticks all the boxes!''

''I’ve been using the regular for about two months now and I love it!! I originally bought it thinking it was a heavier product and I would use it at night only because I live in a humid climate right now but I very quickly started to use it morning and night because I liked it so much. You only need a small amount and it smooths out so beautifully. My skin is glowing using it. I’ve stopped using my other products now which to be honest was a surprise as I was liking them too but I like this more. I love how simple the product is. Also the labels are soooo nice to touch.''

''I use the face oil every day. Stops my skin drying out and it feels a lot more moisturised - AND makes my moustache look slick as f***! haha''

''Girl I'm using the Regular (Tallow) like it's going out of fashion - love it and it's such a great size jar. My skin is loving it.''

''I love the Tames as a hair treatment! It's helped my scalp psoriasis and makes my hair super silky the day after washing it.''

''I used the Regular (Tallow) on my eczema and it cleared up in 3 days! Which is wild because when I usually get it, it stays for ages and I struggle to get rid of it.''
